Make a Checklist to Help Shop for Park City Homes for Sale
Spring and summer are stunning seasons in Park City, Utah. This is a great time to begin shopping for Park City homes for sale. The Wasatch Back is green and lush. It’s easy to get around, and you’ll be able to take your time inspecting the inside and outside of the homes you tour in complete comfort.
Shopping for Park City homes is fun and exciting. The Park City vacation homes in my inventory are absolutely stunning. You will experience wildlife and Mother Nature at her best. That’s why it’s so important you don’t lose sight of the real goal – to find the perfect Park City property for your family.
I recommend you make a checklist. Create the checklist electronically or make several hard copies. The checklist will be used to compare the homes you view. It will also force you to take a hard look at the home, property and community features that are most important to you.
Rank the homes you tour, or simply fill out a checklist for each home so you can compare features later. After touring so many different properties, it’s easy to confuse them. Take copious notes about each home (you might think you’ll remember exciting features and problem areas; but, it’s very easy to forget. Following are some of the features you should include in your personal check list:
- asking price
- property taxes
- estimated monthly utilities
- HMO or other assessed fees
- estimated cost of repairs and maintenance
- employment opportunities
- public transportation
- healthcare providers/facilities
- recreational facilities
- cultural opportunities
- street lighting
- available utilities
- neighborhood covenants and restrictions
- environmental concerns or influences
- health/safety hazards
- list of other rooms and notations about each
(Try rating these on a scale of 1 to 10 for each home you tour (one being the worst and 10 being the best).
- building code compliance
- pest control
Evaluate the home and area for other special considerations that might not apply in just any neighborhood or community. For example, you might want to compare each home’s proximity to lifts and other year-round features.
