Park City Featured in NYT’s ’36 Hours’
Glowing Report Extends a Brighter Spotlight to Utah’s Mountain Gem
by Joel Carson
If you’re looking for a luxury home in Park City, you’re not alone. The popular Utah ski resort is no-doubt even more popular since it was featured in the New York Times Travel Sections’ “36 Hours” on Feb. 2.
New York Times reporter Denny Lee visited Park City along with NYT photographer Djamila Grossman. The visitors returned from their working vacation to write a glowing report of their experience in the charming little city with a big reputation.
Park City luxury homes are popular among stars, civic leaders, and the rich and famous; but, you don’t have to be rich or famous to buy a home there. There is a wide variety of properties in this historic mining community turned upscale resort. Browse our properties 24/7 online.
Lee visited many popular attractions and sang their praises including the Flight Boutique, the Cake Boutique, and the Kimball Arts Center among many other eateries, sports venues and pubs. The reporter dined, played, and worked in Park City (it’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it); and, the result was a glowing feature that brought the spotlight right back to this Olympic-style town.In his report, Denny Lee said, “To ski or not to ski. That’s the luxury of Park City, Utah, the rare ski resort that offers lively diversions on and off the slopes. Historic Main Street still evokes a silver mining town, with local delis mixed in among upscale restaurants and fashion boutiques.”
Such publicity can only serve to enhance the value of Park City luxury homes for sale. I’m absolutely delighted to see Park City get the credit this resort town deserves, but can’t help but wonder how long a soft housing market will support rare bargains we’ve experienced for the past few years with exposure like this.
